A few days ago we had our Annual General Meeting at the Calgary Stampede. While we were cleaning up after our guests, my team had a discussion as to why I volunteer for the Stampede. I really couldn't think of anything at the time so I finally came up with some reasons:
- I love teaching people new things about Stampede
- I can make a difference in my community
- Share my skills with others while learning new ones
- Influenced my career choices in good ways
- Built many networks for the future
- I have got to meet so many different people here in Calgary and worldwide volunteering
- TRAVEL
So there are some of my reasons I am sure that there are more to come.

I hate being put on the spot like that too. I always say I'll get back to them, whoever is asking. Unless I know they'll ask the question in advance.
ReplyDeleteThose are GREAT reasons to work at the Stampede! I'm sure they'd love to read that!
